At AZ Desert Waterfowl, we specialize in the harvest of Mexican Ducks and Sandhill Cranes. Southern Arizona is in the northern range of the Mexican Duck population which makes our land perfect for hunting these trophy birds. We tend to see flocks of 50-100 throughout the season.
As the only guide to offer field hunting for Mexican Ducks, we hunt on private land that allows for a unique and memorable experience. Hunts can also be done on seasonal wetlands with temperatures ranging from 25 to 65 degrees throughout the day.
All hunts include blinds, decoys, a guide, and private land access. We do not provide hunting license, stamps, firearms, shotgun shells, waders, lodging and transportation.
Chris has over 30 years of experience and has hunted waterfowl in 12 different states, 3 provinces and Mexico. He honed his skills on public land in Indiana chasing ducks and geese. His passion for waterfowling took him into the competition calling scene in his earlier years where he became an accomplished caller and true student of the sport.
In 2004, he followed his family to Arizona and thought his duck hunting days were over. With a lot of hard work and dedication, he soon found some exceptional hunting in the desert. He also has a passion for introducing new hunters to the sport and has helped establish several youth duck hunting camps in the state. None of this would be possible without his wife Lee that keeps it all glued together. Although he's a professional firefighter/paramedic by trade, his passion and obsession, is chasing ducks and geese. As a committee member of both the Tucson and Sierra Vista chapters he's able to give back to his passion and stay connected to waterfowl throughout the years. Carpe Diem!
